In case you didn’t know, some of qualities we look for in sign spinners are hard work, reliability, and dedication. Dedication can be shown through many different forms, but number one is to give it your all no matter what. Out to Jacksonville, Florida this month to recognize one of AArrow’s up and coming sign spinners. November’s spinner of the month is none other than Alexander Gilcrease! Thank you for everything you do!
While only spinning signs for 2 years, 25 year old Alex has what it takes to spin with the rest as he regularly braces the Florida elements. Alex was introduced to sign spinning as he was long-time friends with Orlando GM, Kriss Skogg. Naturally, Alex was drawn to sign spinning because it combines extreme sports with self expression and adds a human element to it. To Alex, it was the perfect job because he is a big music fan and could jam out all day while spinning his sign.
Tricks are definitely a big part of the job, Side arm toss varial and neck ties are Alex’s go to tricks. Outside of work, Alex likes to spend time with his family; he is an avid father and his son is a big part of his life. During his sign spinning shifts, Alex is typically jamming out to Strange Music and Tech N9ne’s quick tempo encourages him to spin faster. Other than that, he shoots to be a big team player in Florida and be one of the best sign spinners Jacksonville has ever seen.
Typically other than work, he’s just trying to live his best life and be a good person. His favorite pokemon is Ditto because it can replicate all the other attacks and be anything anywhere. In the case of pineapple on pizza, he is a beliver because Hawaiin is his favorite. Since he spins in hot and humid Florida, he just wants to remind all sign spinners out there to always have water and stay hydrated; thanks for the tips Alex, the next slice is on us!
