San Antonio, Texas is known for many things, the Alamo, the Riverwalk, and some of the best sign spinners to ever exist. This month we are recognizing one of our up and coming AArrow All-Stars out there. This spinner pushes the envelope on talent and his skill surpasses many at his stage of his career. Jakob Vega, you are April’s Sign Spinner of the Month!
19 year old Jakob started his sign spinning adventure when he was just 16 years old. A few of his high school friends were sign spinners and brought him to a quarterly competition in San Antonio. Jakob was blown away and knew he had to get involved. Sign Spinning drew him in because its an outdoor job that is both physically and mentally stimulating but also allows him to express his creativity through the art of sign spinning. There is a community feeling and an essence of being part of the sign spinning team sports culture that is in all Sign Spinners everywhere. Some of his favorite tricks are chicken wing surprise party and wheel of karma, some intensity there!
Jakob is originally from San Antonio and currently works in the San Antonio Market. Jakob is very passionate about sign spinning, he practices for hours a day, honing his craft so he can bring the heat in the next competitions. One day, he hopes to travel up the AArrow career path and work his way through management and ultimately own an AArrow Franchise. Aside from spinning signs, Jakob is also an avid musician and can play several different instruments including guitar, drums, and the ukulele. His favorite pizza is stuffed crust, truly a man of distinguished taste. When asked if he had any words of wisdom for all the sign spinners out there, he answered: “Don’t Let Patterson Scare You.” Very cryptic, I’m sure that means something to someone out there. Keep spinning Jakob and we’ll catch you up with you next time along your sign spinner journey!
