San Diego is known for being America's Finest City with plenty of sunshine, the most beautiful beaches in California, and full of California culture. What most people don't know, is that San Diego is where the original sign spinners, Max, Mike, and Joe got started. AArrow would start and San Diego and soon branch out all across the world. Of course this means that San Diego has some of the best sign spinners in the world and have been part of so many amazing events, like bloc parties, Sports Teams, and especially Comic-Con.
AArrow has provided thousands of jobs to the San Diego youth since founding in 2002. For almost 20 years, AArrow has been able to provide high paying part-time jobs to young people and teach them basic job skills. Many sign spinners come from all walks of life and arrow was able to provide a team sports culture. A few sign spinners have been with AArrow through their whole career. Since starting with AArrow as high-school students, they've spun through college, and have still stayed involved even as they have moved on to other opportunities. Some select AArrow All-Stars get the chance to be on TV, or travel to other AArrow markets in pursuit of sign spinning.
Five San Diegans will compete in this year’s World Sign Spinning Championship in Las Vegas. News 8’s Bruce Patch introduces us to them and shows us the moves.

I’m a sales counselor with KB Home. I work at the Hidden Canyons location with another sales counselor named Norma. We wanted to reach out real quick to let you know we’ve consistently remained impressed with Steven’s work ethic. He’s professional, friendly, punctual and never complains. He walks into our Model Home every weekend morning & night to cheerfully say “Hey!”
Considering he’s outside for hours & hours with the heat, we would also like to point out that he has NEVER complained once. Instead, Norma and I will offer him water, but he’s always prepared with his own cold water. And then we’ll see him outside spinning the KB arrow non-stop for several hours! We’re pretty sure Steven must take breaks, however it seems that he just keeps going & going, which is pretty impressive.
All that being said, the best part about him is he’s always cheerful. His loyalty, integrity and joyful personality have not gone unnoticed. Thank you for having Steven be part of our team! We like him a lot!
They (AArrow) helped us reach millions of voters in the weeks leading up to election day. The early voting turnout was tremendous, it was a big deal for us to get out there early. Prop 24 totally passed.

LAS VEGAS – The champion of the World Sign Spinners Championship is from San Diego! Mark Wright won the 6th annual competition on February 22nd and 23rd at the Fremont Street Experience in Las Vegas. Competitors from all over the world competed, but San Diego’s very best came out on top!
