You’ve probably never seen advertising quite like this — it’s the world of professional sign spinning.
“We’re a guerilla-style marketing company,” said Dakota Millsap, with AArrow Sign Spinners.
With their fingertips, these guys attract loads of attention for their clients,
“You got to be athletic, got to be a people person, can’t be shy and not scared to make a fool of yourself,” said sign spinner Martell Edwardson.
AArrow Sign Spinners just recently started spinning across the Tampa Bay area. Edwardson flew in from LA; he’s been a pro for six years.
“The sign is my beat. Once I heard the music, I just get in my zone,” he said.
“We take pride and enjoy getting people’s attention,” Millsap says.
The big question of course: does it work and actually increase business?
“We’re having customers coming in, giving us the thumbs, great work with sign guy,” said Steve Fohey with Verizon in Oldsmar.
“Most of our clients will see a 40 percent increase in customer traffic,” Millsap said.
Forty percent — that’s something to flip over. And these guys are just getting started here, putting a whole new spin on advertising.
